Dear Kia,
I’ve got a dinner date coming up that’s pretty exciting. I met the guy through some friends at a party. Can you please give me some advice on what to wear and what to talk about….. I’m desparate.
Alicia, 18
Dear Alicia,
Wear a fitted black dress that goes to your knees but shows plenty of cleavage - no stockings with high strappy black heels. Cleavage will keep you in his memory and turn him on when he thinks of you and heels will give you great calves. That “covered but not covered” dress with strappy heels is saucy and freaking HOT on anyones body!
With your talking topics - keep it light. He doesn’t want to hear about sick relatives, how much your job sucks and how small your wage might be compared to the bitch in accounts on the first date. If he inquires about a broad topic try to pick something good in that topic as opposed to something miserable. Example:
Him: “So… Any brothers or sisters?”
You: “No, I’m all alone. My mum had, like 5 miscarriages and 2 stillborns before she had her tubes tied so I’ll never have any siblings. You?”
Him: “CHEQUE & A BUCKET PLEASE”
VS
Him: “So… Any brothers or sisters?”
You: “No, I’m an only child but it had its perks! I had the biggest collection of Polly Pocket ever.”
Him: “Awesome! My little sister had those…”
See the difference? People in general want to hang around happy people. Once they know you and they want to care about things you’ve been through you can tell them your woes. First date however, happens to be a woe-free zone no matter how much you’ve got on your chest!
Don’t feel compelled to agree with whatever he says: speak your mind! If he likes Transformers and you thought it was a load of bollocks feel free to say so but be prepared to back it up.
I could go on forever about how to have the perfect first date but I think that covers the bases: hot dress that still looks respectable paired with uber-sexy heels, be happy and be yourself.
Best of luck!
xo Kia
