We’ve all heard about the bromance but when some random on MSN was describing this bromance movie “I love you man” to me today and they said “Yeah, and this guy makes a friend but it’s kind of like weird cause it’s like they’re dating.”. It was then that I realised, I just might be involved in a hoemance.
My girlfriend and I, we go shopping together, we go to dinner and the movies together, we share secrets, we cry on each others shoulders and when we get really drunk we make out. But is it different for girls?
Girls who are best friends have always been thought to be closer to each other than guys who are best friends. But if you go back in time you’ll not only have a chance to be traumatised by witnessing your own birth, but see some oldschool bro-mance from way back when, like, Starsky & Hutch, Tango & Cash, Mario & Luigi, Elen Degeneres & Portia DeRossi, JD & Turk and Jack Black & Kyle Gass, perhaps bromance has always existed but it was just never talked about. Maybe Bromance seems new because it’s now acceptable and encouraged for guys to have feelings and express them selves. But that leads me to ask, what will we find if we explore these different genres of romance?…
If two guys with moustaches make out, is it a momance?
If you play footsies under the table, is it a toemance?
If two rivers join and run together, is it a flowmance?
If two lesbian deer hook up, is it a doemance?
If crows swoop people at the same time, is it a crowmance?
If two people hate each other, is it a nomance?
If two non-descript people date, is it an average-joemance?
If a couple are remaining celebate, is it a slowmance?
I shall leave you to mull over these socially pressing questions.
